The Châteaux du Médoc’s marathon annually attracts people from all over the world willing to venture on the 42,195 km (or something about 26 miles) of a winding route located in the heart of the most beautiful vineyards of the region.
Organized by the Medoc Castles Marathon’s Association (AMCM, acronym in french for Association Marathon Châteaux Du Médoc), the competition was established in 1984 and has been, since then, a success! People from every corner of the planet, including sportsmen and revellers, are attracted to this sporting event that carries the mark of local culture: wine.
Costumes are mandatory, which makes the party even more fun and full of good humor.
Known as the longest marathon in the world, the route has 22 stopping points where people can taste grand cru wines, oysters, meat, cheeses, grapes, and various events spread over those kilometers.
Monduvin obviously could not stay out of this atmosphere and we went there to check it closely, however, our physical conditions only allowed us the tasting and appreciation moments.
The race, for us, will be set for the next year. Or not.
