Saint-Emilion is simply a charming village. There, among the many wineries that border this ancient French commune, the cobbled streets and the houses that recall the environment of the 18th and 19th centuries hold incredible stories of the French Revolution.
But these stories are no longer secrets to anyone. On the contrary! Monduvin’s team was visiting this wonderful place in the Bordeaux region and made an incredible cultural evening tour, interactive and very creative.
Can you imagine being welcomed by a couple of Girondins at the climax of the French Revolution in the 18th century?
Under the light of the lamps, Mr. Bouquey and his wife welcomed us and guided us through the streets and squares of the city, under “dangerous glances” of spies of the Revolution!
Going through several important places of this town, we knew many historical monuments and its stories. Among them, the Monolithic Church, underground – just breathtaking!
The tour takes place for about one hour and we feel, more and more, immersed in the atmosphere of enchantment and tension of the battles fought during this troubled period of French history.
This is a tour that needs to be done. A story that deserves to be revived. You must experience this UNESCO world heritage site called Saint-Emilion!
