Being in tune with the world of wine gives us the chance to live rich experiences in knowledge, culture and (why not?) Investment.
Monduvin was present at En Primeur Week 2019, an event in which wines are sold “en primeur”, that is, when they are still in barrels, a few years from becoming finished products – bottled and made available to the market.
Typical of Bordeaux, the event always happens in early spring in April, and is spreading among the producers of grand crus. This year, approximately 100 wine producers from the Bordeaux region gathered in this event that is signed by Esthepane Derenoncourt, one of the most renowned winemaking consultants in the world today.
As in all its editions, in this En Primeur Week 2019 the producers presented their wines to specialists, journalists and possible investors. From this, producers estimate the quality and potential value of investment in the crops.
After a week or two, the experts give their verdicts and the journalists begin to publish in the media the first impressions about the wines tasted throughout the event. And then the producers put on sale, “en primeur”, the crop presented at the event.
But why do they do this?
For producers, it is a form of financial contribution, since full payment is made at the time of booking.
For the investor, it is a financial advantage that will mean the creation of a future speculative market, which bets on the appreciation of wines in the coming years.
For other visitors, the En Primeur Week 2019 is a rare opportunity to taste wines of unique quality at the development stage.
In this exciting world of wine, it’s always worth investing!
